  • ​After a degree in Chemistry and a Doctorate in Neutron Scattering from Oxford, Mark joined Robert Fleming Asset Management (RFAM) – taking responsibility for equity research in the Oil & Gas and Utilities sectors. In 1995 he became Director of UK Equity Research and a member of the Banks Global Asset Allocation, Portfolio Construction and Stock Selection Committees. During this period, he also managed the S&P Energy Industries Fund (best performing Energy Fund over 1,3 & 5 years).

  • In 1996 he was made a Director of the Investment Banking Division (RF & Co) and seconded to run its Middle Eastern activities from Bahrain, where he was responsible for the group’s Sovereign Wealth Management Activities and its regional Corporate Finance business. He also ran the regional banking operation of the British Government’s Technology Transfer initiative into Saudi Arabia (Economic Offset).

  • In 2002, the British Government’s Economic Offset activities were transferred to Close Brothers Corporate Finance. Mark was made a Director of Close Brothers International, responsible for both the regional activities of Economic Offset and the Bank’s Energy Corporate Finance Business.

  • Following a successful capital raising for a British technology start up, Mark joined the Company as Director of Corporate Finance. Over the next 14 years he raised over £200m of Capital for the Company, culminating in a $1bn IPO on the London Stock Exchange in 2014 (then the largest Technology listing for 5 years).​​​

​

  • In 2016, he formed Terra Nova Partners Limited, to provide Corporate Advisory Services to high growth technology Companies.

​

  • His experience as a Technologist, Investment Manager, Technology Banker and Entrepreneur gives him a relatively unique 360-degree insight into the challenges faced in growing companies from Inception to IPO.
